New books:
I will be
putting out a book entitled " Obituary Abstracts of Palankaer-Americans
and Related Family Members from the Morrisville, PA/Trenton, NJ Area,
1904-2003" by Dennis J. Bauer & the Late Peter Kiss. I hope to have
it ready by the first of 2004.
It will contain a short history on Palanka, the Donauschwaben here (Morrisville,
PA/Trenton, NJ) in our area, over 265 obituary abstracts. Peter
& I also linked each obit with the Palanka OSB family numbers, in
Anton Reimann's book.
Also visit the club's web site (www.trentondonauschwaben.com)
from time to time as we are updating it. I recently added the subscriber
list from the area for the 1950s German-Hungarian Kalander, it is under the
genealogy section.

PASSING OF A GREAT DONAUSCHWABEN RESEARCHER & AUTHOR
It is with great sadness that I must note the recent passing (10 December 2003) of Stefan Stader of Germany. He was buried at the Bischofsheimer Cemetery. A member of the Arbeitskreis donauschwäbischer Familienforscher since 1975, he was a well known researcher and author of several Donauschwaben genealogy books. He is best known for his Sammelwerk donauschbischer Kolonisten series that listed the original Donauschwaben settlers and their families. The series of books were organized by alphabetical Surnames into volumes (A-D, E-G, H-Kap, Kar-L, M-0 and P-Sch) and were published from 1997 to 2003.
Unfortunately he died before the remaining Surmames from S-Z were compiled and published. One can only hope that someone in the organization can complete this invaluable Donauschwaben family history resource. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends. ...................
