The Well

Formerly the city of  "Armsheim" had a large requirement for water at the fortress, for people and cattle. Many private and public wells were available. At the "Binger gate" dating from the "VELDENZER" time of 1300 - 1470 and then being built up with stone in 1618 as the picture depicts...... the buckets were lowered here and pulled up with chain.  Later the well was called the "cellar well" because in some years, day and night, water for the cellars was drawn from here. In the year 1914 it was provided with a pump. It was retired in the year 1982.
